First Annual Foundation Twentyone Softball Tournament Recap

NLLN parents and their families descended on Hamilton Field on Sunday, May 19, 2013 with fundraising and friendly competition on their minds. The first annual "Baseball Day in Novato" charity softball tournament brought together NLLN parents and their Novato South Little League counterparts in a series of epic battles for bragging rights around town, all in support of the two leagues and Foundation Twentyone, a local non-profit dedicated to supporting youth sports activities.

The event featured three games between NLLN and NSLL parents, with NLLN taking home the Tee Ball/Rookie and Minor trophies and NSLL clinching the day's final game between parents at the Major level. Featuring acrobatic defensive gems, several long home run balls, and lots of laughs, league parents shook the dust off their gloves and showed their kids that they aren't the only talented ballplayers in the family!

Attendees enjoyed a delicious BBQ courtesy of Foundation Twentyone founder, John Christopher, as well as opportunities to participate in several raffles of great gift baskets and prizes. Representatives of Sephora and Rip City Riders (both sponsors of Foundation Twentyone) were on hand to show their support as well.

Judging by the strong showing in its inaugural year, Baseball Day in Novato is sure to become a "Save the Date" event going forward. Proceeds from the event will be shared equally among the two local little leagues and Foundation Twentyone.
